More funding sought for treatment of sex offenders

The One in Four support group is calling on the Government to provide adequate funding for the treatment of sexual offenders.

The group says a lack of funding means sexual offenders who have sought help are being left on a waiting list.

It says this poses potential dangers as offenders are out in the community without the help and support that they need.

One in Four also wants mandatory treatment of sex offenders to be part of sentencing policy in the courts.
