Second teenager charged with murder of Polish man

A second youth was today charged over the murder of two Polish men in an attack near their homes earlier this year.

Sean Keogh, from Vincent Street West, Inchicore, Dublin was accused of killing Marius Szwajkos and Pavel Kalite who died after being stabbed in the head and neck with a screwdriver.

The Polish men were attacked after a row broke out in Drimnagh, south Dublin on February 23.

Judge Denis McLoughlin remanded the 19-year-old in custody to St Patrick’s Institute and he is due to appear at Dublin District Court again next Tuesday.

Keogh, who was also charged with an arson attack on a motorbike, is the second person charged with the murders. Last week a 17-year-old from the south inner city, who cannot be named, appeared at the Children’s Court charged with the killings.

Mr Szwajkos (aged 27) and Mr Kalite (aged 29) died in hospital after they were set upon and stabbed on Benbulben Road in Drimnagh just yards from the front door of their home.
