Final speeches are being made by prosecution counsel, Ms Mary Ellen Ring SC and defence counsel, Mr Diarmaid McGuinness, on day-nine of the trial and the jury will begin its deliberation when Mr Justice Patrick McCarthy concludes his charge.

The 23-year-old accused has pleaded not guilty to raping and sexually assaulting the woman in a County Galway town on July 28, 2007 and denied her allegations in evidence on Friday.
