Drowned aid worker to be laid to rest in Galway
An Irish aid worker who drowned in Ghana just over a week ago is due to be laid to rest in Co Galway today.
24-year-old Natalie Higgins will be remembered at a funeral mass in her hometown of Abbeyknockmoy at 1pm.
She will then be buried at the local cemetery.
Ms Higgins drowned after being swept away by a freak wave while walking on a beach.
She had only arrived in Ghana around 10 days earlier as part of a three-month aid trip
