Government urged to fast-track infrastructure projects

SIPTU is calling on the Government to fast-track major infrastructural projects in order to prevent major job losses in the construction industry.

A new assessment by FÁS predicts that up to one-quarter of all construction workers - some 65,000 people - may lose their jobs before the end of next year due to the downturn in the housing market.
