Taoiseach leads Yes campaign

The Lisbon Treaty campaign continues today with party leaders on country-wide constituency visits.

Taoiseach Brian Cowen will be in Cork with Fianna Fáil ministers Micheal Martin and Batt O’Keeffe to push for a yes vote in the June 12 referendum.

The Cabinet members will later do a walkabout of the Patrick’s Street and English Market areas.

Labour leader Eamon Gilmore will be canvassing with party representatives in Louth, Meath and Dublin.

In Dublin, the Alliance for Europe group will be campaigning at Luas stations in the city centre.

Anti-Treaty campaigners Sinn Féin will launch a Bill on collective bargaining - a key condition set by Siptu for supporting the referendum.

Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny will be joined by former Taoiseach Dr Garret FitzGerald for the party’s final public meeting of their Lisbon Treaty campaign in Dublin. The debate will be chaired by broadcaster and journalist, George Hook.
