Coastguard rush to rescue yachtsman

A major rescue operation is underway off the Cork coast.

The Coastguard says a lone yachtsman has suffered an accident on board an 11-metre yacht.

As a result of his injuries he is unable to control the vessel.

The Castletownbere lifeboat has been dispatched and the Navy is deploying the LE Aisling but there is concern that the weather conditions will turn gale force.
