Group demands new schools and more funding

Educate Together is calling on the Government provide new schools with more funding.

Many schools now depend on fund-raising efforts just to balance the books as many new schools have to start up with a grant of just over €6000.

CEO of Educate Together Paul Rowe has said, the small amount of money given to schools means that many facilities are not able to pay secretaries and caretakers properly.

Mr Rowe says the start-up grant does not reflect reality.
