Gardaí resume Belturbet murder inquiries

Detectives investigating the murder of Darren McGrath in County Cavan have resumed searches around Belturbet.

The father-of-one was shot dead in front of his partner as he slept at their home in the Kilconny Estate, Belturbet yesterday morning.

The victim was shot a number of times by a gunman who broke into the house while an accomplice waited with a getaway car.

Gardaí, who have been conducting door to door inquiries, have appealed for the public's help in tracing the car.

The possibility that the attack on Darren McGrath, originally from Cork, was linked to the drugs trade is being investigated.
