Consultants-contract ballot results to be revealed today

The results of a consultants' ballot on contract reforms being sought by the HSE is due to be revealed later today.

Voting among members of the Irish Hospital Consultants' Association is due to end at 4pm.

Counting will get underway immediately and the IHCA says the result should be known by 5pm.

Consultants and the HSE have been attempting to reach agreement on the new contract for a number of years.
