Medical tests under review due to diagnosis concerns
Almost 4,600 former hospital patients in the north-east are due to begin receiving letters today telling them that their chest x-rays and CT scans are being rechecked.
The move comes amid doubts about the work of a locum consultant radiologist who was employed at Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda and Our Lady's Hospital in Navan between August 2006 and August 2007.
The HSE said it is reviewing 6,000 chest x-rays and 70 CT scans as a precaution and the patients will be informed as soon as their tests are re-examined.
Patients with concerns can contact the HSE on 1850 241850.
