HSE seeking to shed 1,000 desk jobs
The HSE is reportedly seeking to cut around 1,000 desk jobs as part of a new €30m voluntary early retirement scheme.
Reports this morning say the move follows an assessment of administrative staff numbers within the organisation.
The HSE is proposing to cut 200 senior positions and 800 junior posts over the coming years by offering them a pay-off and early retirement.
However, the Department of Health reportedly has problems with offering redundancy payments to lower-level staff, believing they should be redeployed elsewhere in the health service.
