Treaty 'will cause more militarization and privatisation'

The People Before Profit Alliance says the Lisbon Treaty will lead to further militarisation and privatisation within the EU.

The group was speaking today at the launch of its campaign for a 'no' vote in the Treaty referendum.

It says the Government has treated voters with arrogance by failing to hold a proper debate on the treaty.

The alliance says it believes people are concerned about the general thrust of Government policy, which it says is very much in line with EU policy.
