The AGM of the Irish Pharmacy Union (IPU) has heard warnings that the Competition Act is now preventing the HSE from negotiating fees for pharmacists, dentists and GPs.

The AGM today passed a motion calling on the Government to amend the Competition Act to remove any legal ambiguity that is preventing negotiations with representative bodies on remuneration issues.
