'Dutchy' Holland jailed for eight years

Dublin criminal Patrick 'Dutchy' Holland has been jailed for eight years on kidnap charges in London.

This is the fourth time that Holland, who was once accused of killing Veronica Guerin, has been sentenced to a lengthy jail term.

68-year-old Holland, with an address at Russett Way, Lewisham in the UK has been sentenced at Blackfriars Crown Court which heard he had masterminded a ten million pounds honey pot kidnap plot involving a twenty four year old woman who was to act as a sex bait to help abduct a wealthy businessman and hold him for ransom between March and May of last year.

The court heard that Holland had been secretly filmed and taped planning to abduct a businessman and hold him prisoner for a massive ransom.

The trial heard the kidnapping had been ordered by another man who was still at large and believed the businessman had previously double crossed him.

Holland's four co-accused were sentenced to between four and eight years.
