Garda chief blames recreational users for drugs problem

Garda Commissioner Fachtna Murphy today blamed recreational drug users for the growth in the Irish illegal drugs trade.

Speaking at the Institute of Certified Public Accountants Annual Business Lecture in Dublin, he said: “So-called recreational drug users are fuelling and funding the growing and the trading of illegal drugs around the world.”
