Aircraft crashes at Shannon Airport

A light aircraft has crashed at Shannon Airport this evening.

No one was injured in the incident in which a single-engine Cessna plane got into difficulty in cross winds and went off the runway as it attempted to land at around 5pm this evening.

Gardaí and Shannon Airport emergency services attended the scene, but the lone pilot was unharmed.
