More than 2,000 people have taken to the streets of Sligo town for a protest concert against the planned move of local cancer services.

More than 2,000 people have taken to the streets of Sligo town for a protest concert against the planned move of local cancer services.

Under the Cancer Control Programme eight centres of excellence are being established around the country.

The nearest one to Sligo will be in Galway.

Locals in Sligo and across the northwest say cancer services at Sligo General Hospital must be retained.
