Large sum of money stolen from elderly woman in Tyrone

Police in the North are investigating the theft of a large sum of money from an elderly woman in Dungannon, Co Tyrone, yesterday.

The woman, who is in her 90s, answered her door to a man who claimed he had seen a burglar entering her property.

He advised her to check the house and make sure nothing had been taken.

After the man had left, the woman realised that he had taken a substantial amount of money from the house.

The PSNI is appealing for anyone with information about the robbery to come forward.
