Court permits blood transfusion for twins

The High Court has granted the HSE an order allowing it to give a blood transfusion to severely anaemic twins if they need it when they're born.

Their Irish parents, who are both Jehovah's Witnesses, objected to the children being given any blood products on religious grounds.
