Ex-Danish premier to address globalisation conference

The former Danish prime minister Poul Nyrup Rasmussen arrives in Dublin today for a series of meetings with members of the Labour Party.

The former Danish prime pinister Poul Nyrup Rasmussen arrives in Dublin today for a series of meetings with members of the Labour Party.

Mr Rasmussen, current president of the Party of European Socialists, will begin his trip by addressing the Globalisation and Irish Workers conference, organised by the Irish Congress of Trade Unions, on Global Governance after the Financial Crisis.

The MEP will later meet party leader Eamon Gilmore and other senior members at Leinster House, before participating in the Launch of a Labour Party document, Public Services in a Citizens Europe, in Europa House, Dawson Street.
