Tribunal recommends solicitor be struck off

The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal has recommended that Michael Lynn be struck off the roll of solicitors and pay fines of €2m.

The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal has recommended that Michael Lynn be struck off the roll of solicitors and pay fines of €2m.

The tribunal found him guilty of 57 charges of misconduct brought by the Law Society.

The tribunal will forward its findings to the High Court and will also recommend that the case be forwarded to the DPP.

The Law Society revealed to the tribunal evidence of a systematic pattern of failing to keep proper accounts, positive acts of dishonesty and breaches of trust on behalf of Mr Lynn.

The 39-year-old fled the country last December.
