A 14-year-old boy has been treated in hospital after a violent assault in north Belfast today.

A 14-year-old boy has been treated in hospital after a violent assault in north Belfast today.

The teenager sustained facial injuries when he was set upon by a gang of four males in the Alliance Parade area around 4.30am.

PSNI Area Commander Andrea McMullan condemned the beating and called on local people to help officers find the perpetrators.

She added: “We would urge all those with influence within the community to continue to work with us in partnership to combat this type of crime.”
