Meeting to avert IRALCO job losses adjourned

A meeting between unions and court appointed liquidators aimed at finding a way of saving 400 jobs at the IRALCO plant in County Westmeath has been adjourned.

Orders by four major car manufacturers have been retained at the factory in Collinstown.

It is believed this will put the company in the clear for six months.

The full workforce and management are to meet on Sunday.
