Woman in serious condition after Limerick stabbing

A woman is in a serious condition in hospital after being stabbed in Limerick city this afternoon.

A woman is in a serious condition in hospital after being stabbed in Limerick city this afternoon.

The 25-year-old was stabbed during an attack involving two other women on Clare Street around 3.15pm.

She was taken to St Johns Hospital where her condition is described as serious but stable.

It is not known what type of weapon was used.

Gardaí have said their investigations are at an early stage and they have not yet established a motive for the attack.
