Woman dies in Galway motorcycle crash

A young woman has died in a motorcycle crash in Co Galway.

The single vehicle collision happened near Kilchreest Castle on the Loughrea to Gort road at around 1pm this afternoon.

The 19-year-old woman was a passenger on the bike.

The male driver was brought to hospital in Galway city with non life-threatening injuries.

The scene of the crash is closed off and Gardaí have conducted a preliminary examination.
