Search underway for Irish woman missing in Tenerife

Police in Tenerife are searching for a 68-year-old Irish woman who went missing while on a family holiday in the Canary Islands at the weekend.

Elizabeth Butler, from Kilkenny, disappeared while her nieces were checking into a hotel in Tenerife on Sunday.

Mrs Butler is understood to have a mild form of Alzheimer's disease.

Her family is receiving consular assistance while police try to trace her whereabouts.
