Post mortem to be carried out on body found in Limerick
A post mortem is due to be carried out today on the body of a young man found on waste ground in Limerick city yesterday.
The discovery was made by gardaí carrying out searches for weapons following the fatal shooting of 40-year-old Mark Maloney in the Garryowen area on Saturday afternoon.
The body, which was found close to the Caledonian Park area, is believed to be that of an 18-year-old man with connections to a major crime figure.
Reports this morning say he may have provided the car used in Saturday's drive-by shooting and may have been shot dead by his gang associates amid fears that he could implicate them in the murder.
