FF councillor attacks minister over hospital comments
The Chairman of Meath County Council has attacked on the Minister for Foreign Affairs Dermot Ahern on the controversy over a regional hospital for the north east.
Fianna Fáil Councillor Nick Killian has hit out at remarks made by Mr Ahern on Friday.
It has emerged that Navan is the location favoured for a new regional hospital in a report prepared for the Health Service Executive.
Minister Ahern, who represents Louth, said that there's no money for the construction of the hospital.
Councillor Killian said: "I'm disappointed with Dermot's reaction and I don't believe he would have said what he said if the location had have been Dundalk."
The Fianna Fáil councillor added: "This should be about healthcare and healthcare provision, not about petty squabbling."
