Ireland could be united 'in long-term', says Taoiseach

Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has said that he is a supporter of a united Ireland based on the principles of consent.

Speaking today on RTÉ radio, Mr Ahern said: "People will see that, on the island of Ireland, one administration is better than being in any way answerable to a British establishment."
