Phones seized from top criminals in Portlaoise Prison

Six top criminals have been transferred to the segregation unit of Portlaoise Prison following the discovery of a number of mobile phones earlier this week.

The inmates, who include major gangland figures and murderers, were relocated following a detailed search of the prison by staff.

They recovered three phones, four SIM cards and chargers.

Two other phones were also found during an earlier search.
