PD councillor in Ardee defects to Labour Party

A town councillor in Co Louth has defected from the Progressive Democrats to the Labour Party.

Ardee Town Councillor Leonard Hatrick joined the PDs in 1999.

However, he says he has become disillusioned with the party over the Last few months.

Mr Hatrick says he opposes the "right-wing and pro-privatisation" nature of the PDs and was angered with the sale of land belonging to public hospitals without investing money back into psychiatric hospitals.
