Two US firms to create 270 jobs in Waterford

Enterprise Minister Micheal Martin has announced details of 270 new jobs at two US firms in Co Waterford.

The biotechnology company Genzyme plans to create 170 new jobs in the coming years at its facility in Waterford city.

Microchem Labs is also planning to expand its workforce in Dungarvan by 100.

Meanwhile, 40 new jobs will be created in Limerick at a Wickes DIY store that it is opening in the city.

The company says it plans to hire 450 people at 15 stores across Ireland over the next five years.
