Victim critically ill following Belfast attack

A man is critically ill in hospital after he was attacked in a house yesterday, police in Belfast said.

The 21-year-old was assaulted in the property on the Castlereagh Road area of east Belfast at about 1.30pm.

A police spokeswoman said a 19-year-old-man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the incident.

Detectives have not yet established a motive for the attack.

Police have appealed for witnesses or any information which can help their investigation.
