Ethics watchdog postpones inquiry into Ahern's finances

The Oireachtas ethics watchdog has reportedly decided to put its inquiry into the Taoiseach's personal finances on hold.

The Standards in Public Office Commission began the investigation following a complaint from Fine Gael that Bertie Ahern may not have been tax compliant when he filed a tax clearance certificate after the 2002 general election.
