McManus to fund disadvantaged-student scholarships

Businessman JP McManus is to fund a new scholarship scheme for Leaving Cert students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The scheme will help 120 top-performing pupils from poorer socio-economic backgrounds to cover the expense of going to college.
