Govt signs holiday working agreement with Argentina

The Irish Government has signed a deal with Argentina which will allow young people from either country to work for extended periods in the other jurisdiction.

Foreign Affairs Minister Dermot Ahern signed the 'holiday working agreement' at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Buenos Aires today.

The deal will apply only to people under the age of 35.

Mr Ahern says it will allow young people from both countries gain a better understanding of the other country and each other.
