Woman faces deportation despite fears for children's safety
Nigerian national Pamela Izevbekhai has been told to report with her two daughters tomorrow to the centre for deportation.
The family is to be transferred to the camp at Belseskin in North Dublin after arriving at immigration headquarters this afternoon.
It remained unclear today whether pleas to the Minister for Justice, including one from Junior Minister Trevor Sargent to intervene in the case, were being considered.
Niamh Wilson, from the Domestic Violence Advocacy Service, said she believed there's a strong case for a reprieve in this case, citing as evidence the death certificate of Ms Izevbekhai's first daughter, who died as a result of genital mutilation.
