Police hunt down woman's attacker in Cork

Detectives in Cork were today hunting a man who carried out a serious assault on a woman in the early hours of the morning.

The lone female was attacked by the man shortly before 4am at Clarke’s Bridge, near the social welfare offices.

The 21-year-old victim was treated for her injuries at The South Infirmary Hospital.

Gardaí at the Bridewell garda station have set up an incident room and are appealing for anyone with information or who was in the area at the time to come forward.
