Treaty Referendum Commission to have €5.8m budget
The Government is to spend nearly €6m informing voters about the Lisbon Treaty ahead of a referendum later this year.
The bill to allow for the referendum has been published today, but no date has yet been set for the vote.
The Taoiseach has already indicated it will be in the last week of May or early June.
Tanaiste Brian Cowen told the Dáil today that a Referendum Commission would be established with a budget of €5.8m to inform voters about the content of the treaty.
