Kenny: 'Harney must take action in HSE-pharmacists row'

The Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny has said that it is absolutely critical the Health Minister Mary Harney takes action to resolve the dispute between pharmacists and the HSE.

The Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny has said that it is absolutely critical the Health Minister Mary Harney takes action to resolve the dispute between pharmacists and the HSE.

It had been feared that thousands of elderly people and medical card holders would not be able to access their prescription medication under the community drugs scheme, following the threatened withdrawal of a number of pharmacists from the arrangement.

Minister Harney said she was not aware of any disruption.

However, Mr Kenny said that no one should endanger vulnerable people.
