USI warns of pressures on students' mental health

The Union of Students in Ireland says adverse living conditions are putting college-goers at risk of poor mental health.

The organisation says inadequate state grants and a shortage of affordable accommodation can cause depression among students.

It says the problems are intensified as students face deadlines and exams in the run-up to the summer break.
