Almost two fifths of drivers in a government survey in the North have said they exceed the speed limit on motorways.

According to the Northern Ireland Road Safety Monitor 2007 carried out for the Department of the Environment 42% said they normally broke the speed limit on motorways, 30% on dual carriageways, 16% on roads outside a built-up area and 15% inside a built-up area.
