Teen jailed for head butting security guard

A young offender, who head butted a security man after he was caught shop-lifting bottles of aftershave, has been given a four-month sentence by Judge Ann Ryan at the Dublin Children’s Court.

The 17-year-old boy had pleaded guilty to theft and assaulting the security man at Dublin’s Jervis Street shopping centre, on December 31 last. The boy also admitted possessing €30 worth of cannabis, which was found on him when he was arrested at his home, in Ballymun, on January 6 last.
