Mahon rules Taoiseach is not being treated unfairly

The chairman of the Mahon Tribunal has ruled that the Taoiseach Bertie Ahern, is not being treated unfairly by the inquiry's legal team.

Judge Alan Mahon was responding to complaints from Mr Ahern's lawyers about the failure to furnish him with certain correspondence between the tribunal and stockbrokers.

The judge did, however, say that he would agree to have stockbroker Paraic O'Connor recalled to the tribunal if required.

Mr O'Connor has given evidence that he gave a £5,000 (€6,631) donation to Mr Ahern.
