Ahern claims mystery payment may be inheritance

The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern claimed at the Mahon Tribunal today that a mystery payment into his bank account in the 1990s may have been inheritance money from his late father but he has no record of it.

The Fianna Fáil party leader gave evidence at the Mahon Tribunal which is trawling through his personal finances while he was a Government Minister.
