Union defers strike action at British Embassy
Unite workers at the British Embassy have postponed scheduled strike action by 24 hours to allow talks to continue.
Members had planned to picket the ambassador's residence, as well as the British embassy at Ballsbridge tomorrow, as part of their dispute over compulsory redundancies.
Embassy officials, union representatives and former chairman of the Labour Court, Finbarr Flood, made informal contact over the weekend.
Talks got underway this morning.
