The body of a man was found on the banks of Dublin’s Grand Canal this morning.

The body of a man was found on the banks of Dublin’s Grand Canal this morning.

Gardaí are probing the circumstances surrounding the death of the man, who appeared to have suffered head injuries.

The victim is believed to have been in his late teens or early 20s.

The body was discovered shortly before 8am between Kylemore Road and the Naas Road.

A garda spokesman said the area has been sealed off for forensic examinations.

“The scene in the area is preserved for technical examination and the State Pathologist’s Office has been notified,” he added.
