The number of young women being affected by breast cancer is on the rise.

The number of young women being affected by breast cancer is on the rise.

The latest data from the National Cancer Registry shows 366 new cases in women under the age of 45.

That is an increase of 56% increase in five years.

The Irish Cancer Society is holding a conference on the issue in Dublin today.

Clinical Director with Action Breast Cancer, Jennifer Nestor, says a wide range of issues will be covered including fertility and how cancer impacts on couples.
