Political leaders fare poorly in dream Valentine survey

Just 2% of women hope to wake up beside Taoiseach Bertie Ahern, while less than 1% dream of Opposition leader Enda Kenny, according to a survey released today.

A survey released today by luxury bed designer Kaymed, in conjunction with Arnotts, revealed that one in four Irish women dream of waking up beside Irish film star Liam Neeson on Valentine’s Day, while a quarter of men would like to wake beside Derry beauty Nadine Coyle from girl group Girls Aloud.

The survey revealed that film stars Liam Neeson (43% of votes), Colin Farrell (32%) and Jonathan Rhys-Meyers (19%) are the Irish men that most women would like to wake up to on Valentine’s Day.

Donegal crooner Daniel O’Donnell secured 4% of the female votes.

While Nadine Coyle grabbed most of the male votes, glamorous RTÉ newsreader Sharon Ni Bheoláin was also popular, taking 20% of the overall vote.

Coyle was the number one choice for single men and men in a relationship, while the RTÉ star ranked number one with married men.

George Clooney proved that great looks are timeless by emerging as the most popular male international star while Angelina Jolie (41%) was the clear favourite with Irish men, securing almost twice as many votes as second placed Jennifer Aniston (21%).
